Sofia Coppola's dreamy yet devastating directorial debut The Virgin Suicides is returning to cinemas from 28 July 2023 in a new 4K restoration.
Featuring a spellbinding performance from Kirsten Dunst, with mesmeric cinematography from Ed Lachman and a cult soundtrack by French duo Air, Coppola astonished audiences in 1999 with this tale of disaffected youth and coming-of-age – blending a captivating mix of beauty and horror.
The Virgin Suicides is supported by new marketing materials, including artwork (top), clips, social assets, and a zine from Hannah Strong (Digital Editor of Little White Lies and author of Sofia Coppola: Forever Young). Park Circus is excited that a brand new pre-recorded intro from director Sofia Coppola will also be available to welcome audiences ahead of screenings.
Thanks to BFI awarding funds from National Lottery, access to financial support is also available via Cinema Rediscovered following the restoration's UK premiere at the festival. This includes funding towards local curation/events, social media/marketing and PR spend, in-person intros and more.
