Cinemoments: Cops

Cinemoments: Cops

During these trying and uncertain times, we hope to be able to spread a little bit of love and movie magic by showcasing some of our favourite moments in film. Next up is Marketing Executive Frida Runnkvist, who is spreading a little movie magic with this fabulous clip from 1922's Cops.

As one of Buster Keaton's most iconic and brilliantly-constructed short films, Cops is testament to his place in film history as one of the silent era greats. This extract is the culmination of a series of carefully orchestrated gags in which Keaton plays a smitten young man who tries to impress a girl by becoming a "big business man". One thing leads to another and he ultimately winds up inextricably caught in a police parade, which then breaks up to pursue him. Keaton’s comedy is as daring as it is humorous, and we simply cannot resist the joy of this excellent slapstick moment to cheer us up during these difficult times. Enjoy!
