Goodbye to an American stage, film and TV legend

Born in New York on April 29 1919, Celeste Holm (pictured, left) has sadly passed away, leaving behind a string of unforgettable performances that spanned over 50 years and on a variety of entertainment platforms.

Celeste attended school in Paris and studied ballet for 10 years en route to the beginnings of her fame on New York's Broadway in such roles as Ado Annie in hit musical .

Best known in film for her Oscar-winning performance in Gentlemen's Agreement and All About Eve where she received a nomination, Celeste will forever warm hearts and souls with her presence on screen.
