Hitchcock fever

Hitchcock fever

From tomorrow night through to October, the British Film Institute will be paying homage to master British filmmaker Sir . Kicking off with screenings of his malevolent 1927 melodrama The Pleasure Garden (pictured) at Wilton's Music Hall followed by a screening of The Lodger at the Barbican. These films are being restored as part of the Hitchcock 9 campaign to save all nine surviving Hitchcock silents. Park Circus represents four of these films - Downhill, Easy Virtue, The Pleasure Garden and The Lodger.

Beyond these screenings, through the summer and into the autumn, the BFI's thematic approach to the complete work of this master of suspense's body of work includes many other titles represented by Park Circus. To name but a few there's terrorism thriller Sabotage, wartime classic The 39 Steps, chase melodrama Young and Innocent, spy thriller Secret Agent, steam powered mystery The Lady Vanishes, Daphne du Maurier adaptation Jamaica Inn, theatre world suspenser Stage Fright, ethical dilemma morality tale Strangers on a Train and stalker chiller Dial M for Murder. Let it never be said that Hitchcock was shy of tackling a genre.

Park Circus represents more Hitchcock titles than you can shake a MacGuffin at. Browse the complete list today here.
