Back-Room Boy

Arthur Pilbeam (Arthur Askey) is a 'Backroom Boy' who helps out at the BBC. Following a row with his fiancée, Arthur takes a job in a lonely lighthouse off the coast of Scotland where he will open a new BBC meteorological station. On arriving, however, he is warned by the locals that death has often befallen his predecessors. The cause is supposedly a mermaid, Brunhilda, who brings death to anyone who sees her. To his surprise, one night he sees a figure on the rocks, and decides to investigate. Will it be at the cost of his life?
