Robert and Lucille Ainsworth are a successful couple. Following a dinner party, Lucille is invited by one of the guests, an artist called Clive Franklin, to his studio. After refusing his advances she leaves, all the while being followed by her husband who, after receiving an anonymous letter, suspects her of being unfaithful. He sees her meet a man, but after falling unconscious, he wakes up to discover she has been murdered. But who killed her? Everyone is under suspicion in this tense thriller.
