The Barkleys of Broadway

Josh and Dinah Barkley are a husband-and-wife musical comedy team at the peak of their careers. After finishing a new show, Dinah meets a serious French playwright who suggests that Dinah should take up dramatic acting. Dinah tries to keep the suggestion a secret from Josh, but when he finally discovers Dinah hiding a script from him, the ever-bickering couple splits up. When Josh later learns that Dinah is struggling with her new role, he grabs the chance to reconcile with his wife.
