The Mad Magician
Gallico the Great (Vincent Price) is a respected inventor of stage magic effects but he wants the celebrity of a headline act magician. When a rival steals his wife and attempts to steal his buzz-saw trick, Gallini goes berserk. One murder follows another as he tries to cover his tracks and all the time his assistant’s boyfriend, Detective Alan Bruce (Patrick O’Neal) is closing in on him. This stunning 3D psycho-thriller directed by John Brahm, one of the architects of The Twilight Zone television series and written by prolific, frequently perverse screenwriter Crane Wilbur is, as original posters promised, ‘ Astounding! Astonishing! Amazing!’ Price was rarely more crazed than here, The Mad Magician needs to be seen to be believed in all its 3D glory.
