Me and You, Italian writer and director Bernardo Bertolucci’s first film in almost a decade, his first since The Dreamers, is due for release in the filmmaker’s homeland and beyond in October. Based on I’m Not Scared author Niccolò Ammaniti’s novel, who also adapted the book for screen. Me and You is the curious tale of one boy’s secret life in his basement while his parents believe he is on a skiing trip stars striking looking newcomer Jacopo Olmo Antinori and Tea Falco.

Anticipation of the release of Me and You has sparked some interest in Bertolucci’s other films. The UCLA Film and Television Archive will be screening Last Tango in Paris (pictured) and Little Buddha in October and November while MFAH: The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas is participating in the touring retrospective of Bernardo Bertolucci films in September. All prints are being borrowed from Cinecitta in Rome.
