Ahead of the release of An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power this August and the return of the climate change debate to cinemas around the world, we've gathered together a bumper crop of eco-thrillers, green-fingered docs and all-natural classics for audiences eager to explore the history of environmentalism in film.

Our new collection spans factual and fiction filmmaking, and features titles suitable for young eco-warriors as well as seasoned veterans. Highlights include Godfrey Reggio's trilogy of film poems meditating on man and nature - Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi and Naqoyqatsi - Richard Fleischer's dystopian cautionary tale of a resource-depleted world hooked on Soylent Green and Mike Judge's drought-riddled caustic cult satire, Idiocracy.
